1312. William Kevin Petty

William Kevin Petty is the illustrator for Her Majesty's Explorer: a Steampunk bedtime story and Steamduck Learns to Fly.

He has spent most of his life in central Louisiana with sojourns in New Orleans and various military postings in Europe and the Middle East. His focus in college was mostly in archeology and this, along with his time working in museums in his 20's, helped shape his art work with insights into how things were wonderfully constructed through the centuries.

During Kevin's time as an Army Officer, he was continually drawing and sketching, returning home with piles of dog-eared sketchbooks and scraps of paper. His resulting portfolio is available online.

Kevin works primarily in acrylic on masonite and occasionally canvas, and a pencil/photoshop combination, examples of which can be seen in Her Majesty's Explorer, A Steampunk Bedtime Story.
