1512. Emilie P. Bush
Emilie P. Bush is a bestselling steampunk writer and publisher.
She is the author of the novel Chenda and the Airship Brofman (2009), which was a 2010 Semi-finalist for the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. Emilie followed up with the sequel, The Gospel According to Verdu (2011).
In the Spring of 2012, Emilie teamed up with illustrator William Kevin Petty for the children's Steampunk picture book Her Majesty's Explorer: A Steampunk Bedtime Story (2012). This tale about a very tired automaton hit #1 on Amazon's Hot New Releases that day in the Science Fiction genre, as well as ranking well in Children's Literature bestseller lists. The follow-up Steamduck Learns to FLY! (2012) also made several bestseller lists at Amazon.
Emilie loves to laugh and makes the audience the stars in her wacky convention game shows: The Great Debate: Tesla v. Watt and Verne v. Wells. Only the audience can decide who's right.
The Great Debate Game Show: Tesla vs. Watt - Ray gun or black powder? Steam train or Electric Trolley? Which is better electricity or steam? Arguments encouraged! Hilarity expected and bragging rights up for grabs. The audience decides which answer has spark, and which has no STEAM!
The Great Debate Game Show: Verne vs. Wells - The Grand-daddies of Steampunk - Jules Verne and H.G.Wells - are they too sacred to be harpooned? Now, with a Speed Round, the audience always is the judge. Be careful, or you might just learn something!
Emilie is a former Senior Staff Reporter and host of Georgia Public Broadcasting's Georgia Gazette, and is an Editor with the Steampunk Chronicle. She has appeared at Dragon*Con, Steampunk World's Fair, ChattaCon, MARCON, Crossroads Writer's Conference, JordanCon, Deep South Con, ConCarolinas, Mensa's AG, MomoCon, SciFiSummerCon, and TeslaCon, and many more. She also was Public Relations Director for The Artifice Club
