2052. Enrique Velazquez

a.k.a Dr. Quincy Erasmus Quartermain

Enrique Velazquez, more commonly known as "Doctor Q," is a DJ, Event Producer, Promoter, Co-Founder for the Artifice Club and current Director for the Alternate History Track at Dragon*Con. He has previously served as the Senior Director of Arts & Entertainment for AnachroCon and as the founding Media Editor for Steampunk Chronicle. In addition, he is also a co-host of the Ratchet RetroCast, a retro pop culture podcast featuring all things past as well as a regular steampunk feature.

As a DJ, he has opened or performed with Unwoman, Abney Park, Frenchy & the Punk, Hellblinki, and many other well-known musicians, all of whom he admires and regards quite highly. He has also served as Master of Ceremonies for events like ClockworkCon, AetherFest, and others. From an organizational standpoint, he has coordinated everything from small one-night shows with the Artifice Club to large events like S.T.E.A.M.Fest 2012 and Dragon*Con, whose Alternate History Track is the largest fan track within the largest fan-run convention in the world.

When not curating sounds or planning events, he is often found with his nose in a comic book or enjoying a few moments of the mythical "free time" he often dreams about.

He is the Steampunk Chronicle Reader's Choice Award Winner for the Steampunk Person to Watch in 2012 and was also nominated for a Steamcon Airship Award for his efforts in working with the steampunk community. "The Steampunk Impresario," as he is often called, is simply happy to be part of the culture; he continues to involve himself in new projects and is proud to promote new music, new art, and new ideas.
