1954. Tiffany Trent
Tiffany Trent is the author of the young adult steampunk novels THE UNNATURALISTS and its sequel THE TINKER KING.
The origin story for THE UNNATURALISTS, "The Emperor's Man," can be found in CORSETS & CLOCKWORK: 13 TALES OF STEAMPUNK ROMANCE. The Unnaturalists was the 2012 Green Earth Book Award Honor for its environmental message for children and teens.
Tiffany is also the author of the historical dark fantasy series, HALLOWMERE, which was set in Reconstruction-era Virginia and Victorian Scotland and London. The first novel of the series, IN THE SERPENT'S COILS, was an IndieNext Pick for 2007 as well as a New York Public Library Book of the Teenage for 2008. "Blackwater Baby," a prequel story to IN THE SERPENT'S COILS received on Honorable Mention for the Year's Best Horror 2008. She was also the recipient of the 2008 SCBWI Work-in-Progress Grant, which funded research time at the British Museum of Natural History in London.
Tiffany's short stories have been published in Magic and the Mirrorstone, Willful Impropriety, River, and Subterranean magazine, among others. She also co-edited the charity anthology BREAKING WAVES: A CHARITY ANTHOLOGY FOR GULF COAST OIL SPILL RELIEF, available at BookView Cafe.
Tiffany has three Master's degrees - MA in English (Virginia Tech), MFA in Creative Writing, and MS in Environmental Studies (both from the University of Montana). When not thinking or writing, she can be found playing with bees, chasing chickens, or wrestling with her a garden. She lives and writes with her husband in the New River Valley of Virginia.
