Go back to a time when the steam engine, almost magical contraption, becomes the symbol of an era populated by majestic machines full of gears, rods, steel rivets and chrome pipes with pressure gauges, always moved by the pervasive and powerful steam engine, which at that time was believed to conquer the world.
Aware of both the appeal and the increasing resonance of steampunk, we invited a dozen of our most interesting storytellers to participate in this experiment writing a story that happens in this cozy setting. Any of these stories could have been published in the nineteenth century, not surprisingly show an equal future endearing than that outlined the authors who followed the path opened by Jules Verne and HG Wells. Regresemos a una epoca en la cual la maquina de vapor, artilugio casi magico, se convierte en el simbolo de una era poblada por maquinas majestuosas rebosantes de engranajes, bielas, remaches de acero y tuberias cromadas con medidores de presion, siempre movidas por el omnipresente y poderoso motor a vapor, que en aquella epoca se creia que conquistaria el mundo.
Conscientes tanto del atractivo como de la cada vez mayor resonancia del steampunk, hemos invitado a una docena de nuestros narradores mas interesantes a participar en este experimento escribiendo una historia que suceda en ese entranable escenario. Cualquiera de estos relatos podria haber sido publicado en el siglo XIX, no en vano muestran un futuro igual de entranable que el que esbozaron los autores que siguieron la senda abierta por Julio Verne y H. G. Wells. Cada uno de ellos constituye la vision de un futuro que ahora sabemos que nunca se hizo realidad, pero que no puede dejar de resultarnos fascinante. Pasen y suenen. (del prologo de Felix J.
